The annual Miss Criminal 2015 beauty pageant was held at the Talavera Bruce women’s prison in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.The Miss Talavera Bruce pageant is one of those beauty contests, which is held under the supervision of armed security guards at watchtowers and all the participants are inmates.

Last year’s winner, 22-year-old Ana Carolina Rosa de Souza, who was convicted of drug trafficking, explained: “The competition is not just about beauty. The judges are looking for the ability to express sympathy.”
